Currently, 27 states have active ABLE Account programs, with many more under development. The ABLE National Resource Center is a fantastic resource to obtain information on all the currently available state plans, which is a good first step in finding a plan that's right for you. Remember, a special needs beneficiary many have an ABLE Account from any state program, but he or she may only have ONE account total.
